Senior Snapshot: Rayaan Sattar

With the start of a new school year comes a new senior class. Graduation will come sooner than most think and the realization that it’s almost the end of their high school years is setting in with the senior class. For these next months of the school year, we’ll take a look at some different seniors, taking a snapshot of their life and sharing their story with all.

Senior Rayaan Sattar has been at Brownell Talbot since preschool and shared, “I’m definitely nervous to leave BT because it’s all I’ve ever known, but I’m excited to move on to the next chapter of my life.”

One of Rayaan’s favorite parts of BT is the tight-knit community and the friendships he has built. He said, “I love that even with such a small student body we are still able to have a lot of fun with one another while doing different activities.”

Rayaan participates in several activities on campus: Culture Club, Sports Club, National Art Honors Society, National Honors Society, Student Council, Head of School Advisory Council, speech, tennis, and theater. He shared that he’s made the best memories and closest friendships from tennis and speech. His senior year, he is going to be a part of the fall musical Descendants and will play the character Jay.

When asked what his favorite class of high school has been, Rayaan said, “My favorite class was probably freshman year Biology. I really enjoyed this class and I also had a lot of friends with me in the class, so it was always a fun time; the Quizlet Lives got very heated.”

With being a senior comes several special and exciting traditions. Rayaan shared that he is most excited for Senior Prank day, Senior Skip day, and Senior Sunset.

When asked what piece of advice Rayaan would give to the underclassmen, he said, “I would recommend participating with other students at games and other activities because it makes your high school experience all the better. Once you get into these things and have a lot of fun with themes and school spirit, all the fun follows. Some of my favorite times in high school have been at pep rallies and football games; everybody gets all dressed up in the theme and we all have a bunch of fun cheering on our team and saying funny chants.”

For Rayaan, senior year is a mix of emotions. He ended by sharing, “I’m so happy with all the memories and friendships I’ve made here at BT since preschool, but I can’t wait to start a new chapter next fall.”
