Christmas Cookies Recipe
Finals are coming, and the stress is piling on. Luckily, there is a light for students at the end of the tunnel: the winter season, the holidays, and all the joys that go along with them are fast approaching. To combine stress relief and the jolly winter season ahead, join Frida and Clare as they bake Christmas cookies to prepare for the holiday rush!
Ingredients (from FavFamilyRecipes)
- 3 cups flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter (2 sticks) keep the butter COLD until ready to use
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- Frosting
- Christmas sprinkles
- Cookie cutters
Cooking Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix flour, cornstarch, and salt in a bowl and stir. ,
- Split up the butter into cubes and put it in a mixer along with the sugar.
- Mix them together until the dough is smooth. Make sure to scrape down the sides to get all of the dough mixed properly.
- Mix in vanilla extract, 1 egg, and almond extract until it is well combined.
- Add the dry ingredients mixture to the wet ingredients and mix on low speed until the dough is crumbly.
- Remove the dough from the bowl and roll it flat using a rolling pin.
- Use your selected Christmas cookie cutters to cut shapes from the dough. Carefully pick up the dough and place it on a non-stick baking pan.
- Cook the dough in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes.
- After they have cooled, decorate your cookies with frosting and Christmas toppings!
