Senior Snapshot: Serena Zezulak
Graduation is fast approaching, and the realization that it’s almost the end of their high school years is setting in with the senior class. For this last semester of high school for the class of 2023, we’ll take a look at different seniors, taking a snapshot of their life and sharing their story with all.
Senior Serena Zezulak has been at Brownell Talbot since eighth grade. She shared, “I really love the strong support system at BT and how many opportunities we have to explore our passions.”
Serena is involved in a variety of activities on campus. This is her fourth and final year on BT’s cheerleading team, and she has been the captain for the past two years. She shared her favorite memory from cheer: “My favorite memory on the cheer team was definitely winning state my sophomore year.” Serena is alsoon the board of JuSTEMagine and she said, “My favorite memory from JuSTEMagine was the Service in STEM event at BT where JuSTEMagine members assisted 2nd-4th grade students with biology and chemistry activities. We all worked together to assemble STEM kits for a children’s home in Georgia.”
When asked what she’s looking forward to, Serena responded, “I am super excited for the senior trip to Chicago!”
Serena shared her advice for incoming freshmen: “For incoming freshmen, I would say to try new things!”
One of Serena’s favorite classes she’s taken at BT is one she is currently in: environmental science. She shared, “It is super interactive and the topics are very interesting. Mrs. Newman really tries her best to get us out of the classroom and allow us to actually experience and explore the environment.”
All in all, the end of her high school years is a mix of feelings for Serena. She said, “I am anxious as I approach the end of my high school years, but I am very excited for all the new opportunities and changes awaiting me.”
