Katie:
My favorite way to stay on top of my schedule and homework is putting things in my calendar. I like to use Apple Calendar on my phone or laptop so I can put my events on each day and set reminders for myself. Since I do a lot of extracurriculars, time-management is the most important thing in the world. Being able to balance all my activities on top of BT’s rigorous curriculum is definitely hard but it’s worth it if you are doing things you love. My tip for the best time management would definitely be to focus on one thing at a time. While it may feel like you have a whole lot of things to do and all your activities are stressful, it’s better to look at it all like walking in a straight line instead of climbing up a hill. If you try to do everything all at once it can feel like pushing a boulder up a hill, but in reality nothing happens at the exact same time. If you know you have activity A, then B, then C, line them up and take on each as they come, don’t try to do all three at once. If I had to think about all my extracurriculars at once I would probably be in a constant state of panic. Last thing is make sure to remember that if you are struggling in a class or activity, it’s ok to ask for help. You got this!
Jana:
To stay on top of work and stay productive, I make sure to keep a record of all the assignments that I have to complete and when they are due. I usually keep this written down in my notes app or on a little widget on my laptop. If you are having trouble staying on top of your work and having the energy to do your assignments, going to a little cafe or coffee shop and working there can really help. But sometimes, you just have to remove everything that’s distracting you from your work, like your phone, turn on some instrumental music, and really focus in on whatever assignment you’re doing.
Tanya:
To stay productive, I always keep a to-do list so I can physically see everything I have to do. I also usually break big tasks into smaller, manageable ones. This makes overwhelming assignments easier and more efficient. I also prioritize my tasks to focus on what’s most important first. It’s almost important to try and minimize distractions. I usually set my phone on DND and work in a studious space. Most importantly, it’s important to take breaks and let yourself relax.
William:
To stay on top of school and life, I keep a planner and make reminders on my phone. I try to always be as resourceful as possible with my time I make sure I can get work done in study halls and at home while still making time for my friends and family. I always try to study at least three days before a test and never have NTIs. When I’m at home doing work I always give my phone to my mom because it is very distracting. I also turn on classical music which helps me focus and makes me calm. I always try to do my work after I eat a snack or a meal, so I’m not hungry.
