Senior Andrew Joseph Puskar has been at Brownell Talbot for six years. He said, “I love the tight-knit community. Everybody knows everybody, and it’s really friendly.”
On campus, AJ participates in strings, powerlifting, tennis, robotics, pirate radio, and choir. Outside of school, he works at the Flying Worm Vintage on the weekends.
When asked about his favorite memories from these activities, he shared, “Opening night for all of my shows and getting to the finals at the Mall of America VEX Robotics Tournament.” He’s known for being a big part of BT theater: “I love theater and BT’s department has taught me so much. I’m so thankful to have been a part of such a talented cast of actors and technicians, and I’m looking forward to seeing what you guys do next year!”
AJ said one of his favorite classes in high school has been Dr. Low’s English class in eleventh grade: “The literature and the conversations were always really enjoyable.” AJ said that senior year has easily been the best year of high school so far and it’s not even close to the others.
AJ has committed to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln for the next four years for an undergraduate degree in psychology with a focus on clinical and human services.
He is most looking forward to the senior prank: “It’s going to be a great bonding experience, and ours should be pretty good this year.” As AJ thinks about the end of high school, he shared, “I’ll be sad to say goodbye to a lot of my friends, but I’m really excited for the opportunities to come.”
To end, AJ shared important advice for underclassmen: “Take all the chances you get to try something new. I’ve tried tons of stuff, and even if it doesn’t work out, maybe you’ll love it!”
