Senior Hutchings Reumann has been at Brownell Talbot since seventh grade. When asked what he loves about BT, Hutch said, “The inclusive community. I know almost everyone and almost everyone knows me to some extent. My friendships aren’t limited to grade levels.”
On campus, Hutch participates in robotics and Game Club. One of his favorite memories from robotics was the Mall of America tournament: “I had the fun of going around MOA with my friends and staying over in the hotel, but we were also incredibly successful at the tournament and I’m incredibly proud of what we accomplished.”
Hutch’s favorite class of high school has been Latin, by a long shot also: “This is my 6th year doing Latin and I’ve had the luck of doing it with a group of people I love every year. The numbers of the group may have dwindled since the start but we only continue to have more fun and grow closer.”
Hutch thinks senior year will end up being his favorite and shared, “Not only are the extra freedoms you get rewarding but the relationships I have have only continue to deepen and become more impactful. I’m very pleased with where I am.”
For Hutch, he is most looking forward to the senior trip: “I’m in a group of people I appreciate and having the opportunity to go on trip all together and enjoy one last hurrah seems quite the way to make some memories.”
As far as college goes, Hutch said he has kept his college list fairly small. He shared, “Really just UNO, UNL, and then a small liberal arts college in Minnesota named St. Olaf which is my number one choice. The results for St Olaf should be coming in soon and then that’ll decide where I end up going.”
When thinking about graduation, Hutch said, “I certainly worry some about it, just as is natural with any big change, but I realize that it’s gonna happen whether I want it to or not so I might as well just enjoy the time I have left at BT.”
To end, Hutch shared some advice for underclassmen: “Don’t stress about it. things will turn out the way they should. That doesn’t mean don’t put in the work to get where you want but there’s no use worrying about things that are out of your control. Get the work done and then enjoy the time you have left.”
