As senior year winds down, students reflect on their time at Brownell Talbot and look ahead to the future. With graduation fast approaching, excitement builds for the final milestones before moving on to the next chapter.
Senior Jana Ohnoutka has been at BT since Junior Kindergarten in 2011. She said, “What I love most about BT is the tight, close-knit community, which has allowed me to make a lot of friends.”
On campus, Jana participates in theatre, powerlifting, politics club, academic decathlon, and journalism. She has also designed the yearbook cover for the past three years. She shared some of her favorite memories from these activities: “My favorite memory from politics club is creating the mock election and playing Spades at every club meeting. I also really enjoyed doing the Puffs show with my friends and being part of tech week.”
Jana reflected on her favorite class in high school: “Definitely AP European History since I loved the material so much.” She also shared her favorite grade: “I think either sophomore or junior year was my favorite since I had a lot more freedom.”
Looking ahead, Jana is extremely excited to begin a new chapter in her life: “I want to gain new experiences and skills in college.” Jana is most looking forward to senior prom and senior prank.
Regarding college, Jana said, “Applying to colleges was really stressful and I haven’t gotten a lot of decisions back yet. I have heard back from Trinity College in Dublin, which will most likely be where I end up. I got into the History and Political Science major.”
To end, Jana shared some advice for underclassmen: “Join as many activities as possible to make new friends and meet people from other grades.”
