Verbatim is back with another month of news, stories, and campus insights—though the many snow days threw us off a bit. February may be short, but we’ve packed it full of new content in Verbatim, including our take on love, culture, and campus life.
February, being intertwined with Valentine’s Day, celebrates love through our feature story as sophomore, Maddi Marco, gives a detailed background on the symbolism of hearts. Adding to the theme of love, juniors Taylor and Teagan give advice on the best “date night” fashion.
With Valentine’s Day at the center of the month, our feature story by sophomore Maddi Marco explores the symbolism of hearts—since we see them everywhere in February. Juniors Taylor and Teagan offer their best “date night” fashion advice, making sure you’re dressed to impress, whether you’re out with friends or on a classic Valentine’s date.
For seniors, February has been all about making memories. The Senior Sips crew—Tanya, Will, Katie, Jana, Hutch, and Dr. Low—take on a Dundee favorite, Le Quartier, while also dropping their latest Senior Wisdom story on their most memorable moment from high school. In Jana’s senior snapshot, she shares more about herself and her plans beyond high school.
Keeping with the theme of drinks, juniors Olivia and Angel break down the most popular Starbucks menu items and rank their personal favorites. In the culture section, artists Violet and TG showcase their angelic, Cupid-inspired artwork in this month’s Art Portfolio.
And finally, we’re launching something new: This is Thursday, Verbatim’s own news podcast. But don’t expect your typical, serious rundown—it’s unconventional, a little comedic, and definitely not your average news update. Tune in to hear campus stories, hot takes, and whatever else we decide to throw in.
February may be fleeting, but Verbatim isn’t slowing down. Enjoy this month’s Verbatim!
