Recently, a preposterous debate has spread like wildfire throughout the internet: 100 men vs 1 gorilla? While the specifics of the bout are undefined, many specialists and internet sleuths alike have taken the responsibility of sharing their opinions with the masses. Looking under the veil of this intriguing debate, one can see the true nature of this argument: the indomitable human spirit vs. the brutality of the silverback.
The Humans:
In the red corner, we have 100 average male adults. Along with these men, is their will to survive, enduring more pain than humanly imaginable while still throwing fruitless attacks. Experts, such as wildlife conservationist Ron Magill from Rolling Stone Magazine, seem to believe that a large group of capable men would dominate the gorilla under one condition: The humans would need to “Kamikaze” themselves for the greater good. Through attacking in unison in an almost “Levee en Masse” fashion, the gorilla would take too much blunt force for it to handle, eventually leading to the death of the silverback. This is not to say that the men would come out unscaved, though. It is believed that most will leave either on a stretcher or in a hearse. Despite this, the victory of the humans must not be understated, as it shows the humans ability of strategy and will that makes us the dominant species.
The Gorilla:
In the blue corner, we have the gorilla, the Mike Tyson of the Jungle. Standing in at 400 pounds of pure, lean muscle, the gorilla is shown to be a force to reckon with. However, behind the aggressive demeanor of the Silverback, gorillas are known to be gentle giants, only attacking if threatened directly by an outside force. In this instance, however, the gorilla must fight. With a bite force of 1300 PSI, the gorilla would easily swipe through the crowd of males in a timely fashion, utilizing its animalistic brutality to win over the mob. Additionally, the structure of the ape’s muscles give another edge on the humans. 85% of the gorilla’s muscles contain fast twitch fibers, as compared to the human’s 50%, meaning that the gorilla has much more explosive power, meaning a more powerful punch and a faster kick. Overall, the size and structure of the gorilla creates a formidable apponent for the 100 humans
Conclusion:
The opinions of the internet run wild with different scenarios that lean toward either side. Whether is the gorilla’s size or the human’s strategy, one can find a different story in any facet of the internet. The true answer, however, remains unsolved, left for the depths of the internet to debate until a new fad takes over.
