This week we asked what students and staff are missing from Summer. What was your favorite thing you did this summer? What do you wish you could do again, or could have done that you never tried? What was your favorite memory? Are you happy school started/did you miss the school atmosphere and wanted to be back?
“I moved to Omaha this summer and I loved trying all the new restaurants and seeing all the different places. I want to go back to Pitch cause the food was soooo good and something I didn’t do was go on the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge which I really wanted to do, but I just didn’t have time. My favorite memory was probably getting to go to school and meet new friends, but now I wanna go back to summer because I forgot you actually had to study for school.” Cathrine Balman ’30
“My favorite thing was visiting Estes Park. I wish I could celebrate the Fourth of July again. My favorite memory was taking a family friend on vacation. I never want summer to end or school to start!” Kris Vigneri-Lower School TA
“My favorite thing I did this summer was going swimming, getting ice cream, and playing football. I wish I could sleep in more since school started. My favorite memory was going swimming with the football team. No, I am not happy school started since I have to wake up early and do homework.” Jack Green ’27
“My favorite thing I did this summer was go to Florida. I wish I could’ve gone to more of my brothers baseball games to see one of my best friends. My most favorite memory from the summer was wearing Buccee’s onesies with Rocco and Elsa in Estes Park. Im not thrilled that school started but I’m excited that volleyball started.” Addi Vigneri ’28
“My favorite thing I did this summer was studying in France for six weeks. I wish I could’ve gone to Switzerland with my friends. The best thing during the summer was visiting the F1 museum in Monaco. Im happy to back to school but wished I stayed in France longer with my friends.” Teagan McCallister ’26
“I had a pretty eventful summer with my family moving across the country from Virginia. My favorite part would have to be moving into our house and settling into our new neighborhood, and also getting to take my son Dante to the pool for the first time. While I’ll definitely miss parts of summer, like the longer days and the great weather, I feel like I’ve been waiting to start at BT all year so I’m so excited to finally be here!” Dr. Dawson-Upper School English
Summer brought everyone different memories, from vacations and adventures to family time and new experiences. While many wish the season could have lasted longer, it’s clear these moments will be remembered even as the school year begins.
