Restaurant Review: Lisa’s Radial Cafe
When deciding where Verbatim staff wanted to go for our next restaurant review, our classmate Molly Clark recommended Lisa’s Radial Café. We were certainly excited to get a recommendation from a fellow Verbatim reader, and it was clear where we needed to go on our next excursion. During one of our shared free periods, the Verbatim staff went to Lisa’s Radial Café, just a few minutes away from Brownell Talbot, located at 817 N 40th St, near St. Cecilia’s Cathedral.
Kidman: I ordered the combo meal, which included pancakes, bacon, and eggs. The pancakes were cooked to a grill style. The pancakes were fairly large and the syrup complimented them well. The bacon was very crispy and flavorful. The egg was cooked perfectly where the outside was crispy and the yolk was gooey. Overall, I recommend Lisa’s Radial Café.
Calvin: While looking through their menu, I decided to try a few of the side items they offered. When the server came over, I ordered a chocolate chip pancake, a chocolate chip waffle, and a side of hash browns. When receiving the waffle and hash browns, they both looked very appealing and were delicious. The waffle had a nice flavor and was warm and fluffy. The hash browns were warm as well and had a nice texture to them. Even though the server did understand what I had ordered, there was a miscommunication, and I did not end up receiving my pancake. Although this was a little upsetting, the server was very nice about it and offered to get me one, but I declined. Overall, if you are planning on going out to get breakfast or lunch, I highly recommend that you check out Lisa’s Radial Café.
Kate: For the price of the burger and fries, the portions for both items were very large, and I was no doubt filled up at the end. From the inside out, both the fries and the burger were very warm, which is always important. The amount of cheese on the burger and salt on the fries was perfect. Also, the price is much better than what you will find for a burger meal at another restaurant. I highly recommend Lisa’s Radial Café.
One thing to keep in mind when going to Radial Café is that parking can be a challenge, especially on busy weekend mornings. Once we found a parking spot, everything went smoothly. The cafe was just a couple of minutes from where we parked. Right as we walked in, we noticed the building’s warm ambience and classic decor. There was no wait time when we arrived, and we were brought to our table right away. Our host made sure to wipe off the table before we sat.
After being seated, we were greeted with water and an accommodating server. She was extremely friendly and helped Kidman decide on which type of eggs to order. She also provided us with recommendations and answered any questions we had. After we ordered, the wait time for food was fairly long, but we believed the delicious food made it worthwhile. The server brought out our food and set it down at our table. After doing so, she quickly checked back to ask if we had needed anything else and refilled our water. Once we finished our meals, we paid upfront. Paying was quick and easy. Overall, Lisa’s Radial Café was a great experience and a place we would definitely return to.
