Community Voices: Fall Season
As the leaves change colors and temperatures become colder, members of the Brownell Talbot Community begin to get excited about the Halloween season. Whether it is dressing up in costume, watching scary movies, or eating way too much candy, Halloween is a favorite holiday to many. When asked about their favorite Halloween tradition, here is what four members of the BT Community had to say:
“My favorite Halloween tradition as a child was trick-or-treating with my best friends. I always loved dressing up and saying hello to my neighbors when I was younger. As I get older, I enjoy staying in on Halloween night and baking cookies and watching scary movies!”
-Renee Samieva ’23
“Honestly, I don’t love Halloween.. But, I do like watching my daughter and my husband carve pumpkins. For the last 20 years, I’ve lived in a house too far off the road to get any trick-or-treaters, so maybe giving out candy will become a new tradition.”
-Kari Newman, Science Teacher, Science Olympiad Coach, BT Parent
“Every Halloween, I enjoy dressing up in a costume, as well as passing out candy to kids on Halloween night. When I was little, I always made Halloween treats with my family, too.”
-Josh Randolph, ’22
“My favorite Halloween tradition is hanging out with friends and family and passing out candy to all of the trick or treaters that come by.”
-Casey Clark, Strength and Conditioning and Yoga Teacher, Assistant Football Coach, and HOUSE Dean
