In February, I went to a concert of one of my favorite artists of all time– Nine Inch Nails. There were 2 stages, one in the center of the venue and the main stage, that the band went between. They were accompanied by a cameraman who provided close-ups of Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, Robin Finck, Stu Brooks, and John Freese during songs. While I took minimal photos during the concert, the usage of unique lighting and camera angles on stage inspired me to do a study in dramatic lighting via past concert photos of Trent Reznor.
His influence on the industrial music scene remains strong even now, and his skill as a music artist has come through in his work on movie scores throughout the years. Despite his harsh vocals, at 60 years old Reznor has maintained his voice well and sounds nearly the same as he did at his debut (according to my dad, who saw the concert with me and attended a NIN concert in 1993).

I’m glad NIN has stayed relevant for so long. Great music and great article.
