A new Flagship takes over what used to be Plank. Anthem brings a fresh energy to downtown Omaha’s dining scene with a stylish atmosphere that feels more like a modern social lounge than a traditional restaurant. Located in the heart of the Old Market, the space combines trendy decor, upbeat music, and a lively crowd, making it a popular destination for date nights, brunch outings, and weekend gatherings. The menu focuses on elevated American food with creative cocktails and shareable plates that fit the restaurant’s social vibe. The restaurant feels designed for people who want more than just a meal; it offers a full downtown nightlife atmosphere with happy hours, late-night specials, and an energetic environment that keeps the space buzzing throughout the evening.

For starters we got one of their platters called “The Cheat Code.” It is designed for sharing where the platter delivers a mix of bold flavors, crispy textures, and creative twists that make it one of the most exciting menu items for groups or anyone wanting to sample multiple dishes at once. The Thai Curry Fries stand out immediately with their crispy texture and rich curry seasoning, offering a balance of spice and savory flavor that feels unique compared to standard fries. Olivia almost refused to eat the Crispy Wonton Tuna Tacos because she said that “they look like uncooked beef and I refuse.” Eventually the rest of the table was able to convince her to take half a bite. She then admitted to them being “ok” and “not as horrible as expected.” The Crispy Wonton Tuna Tacos bring a lighter but flavorful contrast, combining fresh tuna with crunchy wonton shells for a bite that is both refreshing and satisfying. The Flautas de Sol add a warm, crunchy element to the platter, packed with flavor and served with sauces that enhance the dish without overpowering it. Meanwhile, the Jalapeño Mac Poppers combine creamy macaroni and cheese with a spicy jalapeño kick, creating one of the most indulgent bites on the table. To finish, the Crab Rangoon delivers a familiar favorite with crispy edges and creamy filling that balances sweet and savory flavors perfectly. Together, every item of “The Cheat Code” feels carefully selected to create a fun, shareable experience that matches Anthem’s energetic and social atmosphere.

Anthem’s “Ponzu Salmon Noodles” is a bold Asian-inspired noodles bowl built around rich salmon and bright citrus-soy flavors. According to the menu, it includes chili and garlic noodles tossed with napa cabbage, mushrooms, fresh herbs, cashews, and scallions, all tied together with ponzu, a Japanese citrus-soy sauce that adds salty, tangy, umami depth.
Overall, Anthem delivers a fun, energetic dining experience with creative food, great cocktails, and a trendy atmosphere that makes it perfect for a night out in the Old Market. The Ponzu Salmon Noodles were flavorful and unique, balancing savory, citrusy, and spicy notes really well. Service was friendly, and the vibe felt modern without being pretentious. Definitely a spot for both the food and atmosphere.
