As spring break flew by and the cold snowstorm was an unwelcoming start to the fourth quarter, reminiscing on spring break and the warm weather that came with it would not be uncommon. For many, like my family, spring break was an opportunity to venture out of Nebraska and enjoy the experience other states or countries had to offer. In my case, my family took a trip to Exuma island in the Bahamas.
This image shows a beach on the east side of Exuma and in the distance a grouping of rocks called the three sisters can be seen. Though these rocks appear small there is great legend associated with them. The legend tells of three sisters who fell in love with the same Englishman and when they found out they were all in love with the same person they swam out to his ship to confront him. Sadly, the sea was rough in the area and all three sisters drowned. So the three rocks in the distance are said to have risen in the spots where the sisters drowned.
While the snowstorm that blew past Nebraska was a reminder the winter weather had not yet left, eventually, the snow melted and revealed warmer weather, chirping birds, and grass that is getting increasingly greener.
