Tuesday, February 24, marked the end of the Boys’ 2025-2026 season. After months of hard work, the boys finished the season with a 12-13 record. Coached by Tom Stannard and Jason Gibbs, the team was destined for success as they worked their way towards sub-districts.

Monday, the boys played Falls City at Auburn, with a winning lead of 60-45. The last time the boys played Falls City was during their football season, when they marked their first win of the program since the 2023 season. This win allowed them to advance to their second round of subdistricts against Auburn.
Tuesday, they warmed up strong, setting the tone early with aggressive defense and quick ball movement. From the opening tip, the boys fought hard, although Auburn quickly shifted the momentum. By halftime, Auburn had established a commanding lead. Despite continued effort, by the third quarter, junior varsity players were rotated in. The substitution marked the closing chapter of the seniors’ basketball careers. One by one, each senior was taken off the court, holding back tears in their eyes as the reality of their final game set in. As the final minutes ticked away, it became not only the end of a tough loss but the end of a season and a lasting chapter for the senior class.
The following day, at the pep rally, Coach Stannard shared touching notes to officially close the season. Having coached many of the seniors since their middle school years, his words carried a deeper weight. He touched on their growth as athletes and young men, congratulating them on a well-fought season.
