Regarding a previously published breaking news story, Mr. Sanders has finally come to a decision on what to put in his tank. Drum roll please….FISH—specifically, the survivors of an environmental science project. Despite a majority preference for axolotl, winning 67% of votes through a previous poll, Mr.Sanders dashed all hope for axolotl lovers with the guppies. The half-full tank of musty water will be home to these fish for 2-3 years, as that is their expected lifespan. However, in a science classroom hosting classes for students as young as sixth graders and students as old as seniors, there are many possibilities for mistakes. So whether those errors will have any effect on the guppies raises the question: how long will the guppies ACTUALLY live?
Of course we had to conduct an interview with Mr. Sanders pertaining to their current state and what their future holds. To kick off the interview, we asked “would you keep them until they died?”, Mr. Sanders responded, “Yeah, and I have a lot of guppies at home, so I might bring some”. So it appears that these six guppies may not bring the end to our journey with the mysterious science classroom tank as there is a possibility for more guppies to call that tank home.
Although the fish have faced difficulties surviving the wrath of the AP Environmental Science students, they are now in better hands with fish enthusiast, Mr. Sanders. He explains in order to keep the fish alive, they should be fed and kept in temperatures around 70 degrees, but adds: “thanks to AI overview, they can get down to 50. They will be fine, they are hardy”.
So even though many wished for an axolotl, or the two votes that hopped for a cat, we are confident these new guppies will thrive in the hands of Mr. Sanders!
