Yet again, the Kansas City Chiefs have lost, putting them in third out of four teams in the AFC West division. There were many factors that led to their 10-20 loss to the Houston Texans, but the deciding scorer was Texans running back Dare Ogunbowale’s five yard touchdown. As a result, their playoff chances are now even slimmer.
The Chiefs gained more injuries, one to Wanya Morris (left tackle) and another to Trent McDuffie (cornerback). As stated by Ben Church in a December 8th CNN report, “Mahomes ended Sunday’s game with just 160 passing yards and a 42.4% completion rate – the lowest in his 9-year career”.
That being said, the Chiefs weren’t completely silenced by the dominating Texans. Their defense caused Texans quarterback C. J. Stroud to have eight incompletions, leading to a touchdown by Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt. Unfortunately, that was their one and only touchdown and field goal. The last opportunities for the Chiefs ended with failed plays, like a wide-open pass to Rashee Rice being dropped.

With a now 6-7 record and very slim 15% of making the playoffs, the Chiefs might put an end to their impressive streaks. As a proud Chiefs fan, though, I’m not going to lose hope yet! They are still “in the hunt” and definitely not “eliminated”.
