Learn all about Angela as we finish off her final year at BT.
Senior Snapshot: Angela Hensley

Angela Hensley has been a part of the BT community for four years, and in that time, she has gotten involved in many activities that the school has to offer. What she loves most about BT is how driven and goal-oriented the students are, and how everyone comes together to support one another. Her favorite traditions are the House Cup and House Olympics in the spring before Prom because these events bring out friendly competition and show the strong sense of unity at BT.

Angela has made the most of her time both in and outside the classroom. At BT, she has participated in Volleyball, Powerlifting, Track, Band, DECA, NHS, and Journalism to embrace her very wide range of interests. Outside of school, music has played a big role in her life. She is a member of a band called Stuck on Dodge and also spends much of her free time songwriting and producing music as an independent artist. One of her favorite high school memories was taking a road trip to Ord, Nebraska, for her first-ever gig with Stuck on Dodge because this was a milestone that marked the beginning of an exciting creative journey.

Angela’s favorite class from her four years at BT was Algebra I, her freshman year with Mr. Lan. The class was filled with unforgettable people who never failed to make her laugh. When looking back on her favorite year of high school, Angela always points to junior year as a turning point. She loved the classes she took and feels that it was the year she truly branched out, forming meaningful relationships with students across different grade levels.

Looking back, Angela is especially proud of stepping outside of her comfort zone. When she first arrived at BT, trying new things felt intimidating, but she challenged herself to join activities and pursue leadership roles in the extracurriculars. Throughout Highschool Angela feels like she’s learned discipline and how to fully commit to the goals she set for herself.

As graduation comes closer, Angela feels a mixture of excitement and bittersweet reflection. Part of her wishes she had cherished every moment of high school even more, as it really does fly by, but she is also eager to see what the next chapter holds. She is relieved that the college application process is complete and is currently waiting to hear back from her top choices, the University of San Diego and Pepperdine University. She hopes to double-major in Biology and Music Songwriting, or major in Biology while minoring in Music Songwriting.

Angela knows she will deeply miss the close feeling of familiarity that comes with life at BT. She loves the comfort of knowing every staff member and student, and the relationships she has built over four years with every member on campus. She thinks it will be the weirdest part of moving on to step away from a community that has become such a constant in her life.

When asked about a role model who shaped her high school experience, Angela points to Akhil. Before meeting him, she admits she didn’t always think twice about fully applying herself in school or extracurriculars but his work ethic and drive pushed her to become the best version of herself.

To underclassmen, Angela offers heartfelt advice: stay true to yourself.

Even though BT is small with lots of overwhelming expectations, Angela wants underclassmen to not alter who they are just to fit in. She believes that when you remain authentic, the right people and opportunities will always end up finding their way towards you.

During the school year, Angela unwinds by watching her comfort shows, cooking homemade meals, lighting candles, and catching up on sleep. Looking ahead to life after graduation, she is especially excited to release her first EP around May or June of this year. The project which was written, produced, mixed, and mastered entirely on her own has been in the works since October of 2025. While the process has been nerve-racking, she is incredibly proud of the work she has poured into it and cannot wait to share it with others.

As she prepares to move on from high school, Angela carries with her the lessons of discipline and authenticity. Though she feels sentimental about leaving BT behind, she looks foward to approaching the future with an open mind and excitment for whatever may lie ahead.
