Olivia Grogan joined BT in 5th grade, stepping into a new environment that would quickly become home. Over the years, the school’s small size and strong sense of community have shaped her experience. “I like how you can really be connected with the teachers because of the small environment.” Traditions like poems from Juniors to Seniors at prom and House Olympics towards the end of the year have become her top favorites. She says these moments are the ones that capture the spirit of BT the most.

Throughout her time here, Olivia has stayed deeply involved—volleyball, track, NHS, NAHS (where she serves as vice president), Journalism, and club volleyball outside of school. She’s always loved the way sports and clubs opened doors to new friendships. “It’s fun meeting everyone through those,” she said, reflecting on the teammates, classmates, and friends she’s made along the way. As senior year moves forward, Olivia feels a mix of excitement and readiness.
Olivia has nearly finished her college applications, casting a wide net across schools in California, Florida, and Washington, D.C. She plans to study criminology with hopes of becoming an FBI agent. The investigative side of the field is what draws her most: she wants a future where she can help others by uncovering the truth.

When she looks back on her classes, Olivia says she’s especially enjoyed BT’s art courses. The creative time has always felt relaxing and grounding amid a busy schedule. She thinks senior year might end up being her favorite, as she feels ready to step forward into college and independence.
Her advice to underclassmen is simple but meaningful: “You never know what is going on in someone’s life, so give everyone a smile because it could make their day.”
She knows she’ll miss the close bond she shares with her teammates the most—how everyone works together, laughs together, and grows together on and off the court or track.

Her parents have been her biggest role models through it all, always supporting her, encouraging her, and reminding her of her strengths.
Olivia’s high school journey can be summed up with one phrase: hard work and growth. She has grown into someone who understands her worth and value, someone who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to pursue it. When Olivia isn’t at school or volleyball, she unwinds by spending time with friends, hanging out, and having fun—moments that help her stay grounded and happy.
After graduation, Olivia looks forward to continuing her path toward becoming an FBI agent, diving deeper into the world of criminology, and stepping fully into the future she’s been working toward.
