The girls’ basketball team’s win streak has come to an end after five consecutive victories. The 23–39 loss, with only a few players scoring, turned into a defense-heavy matchup. Holding Weeping Water to relatively few points made it hard to feel victorious when shots weren’t falling last Thursday.

Although the girls were disappointed by the loss, the mood shifted at the end of the night as the team honored its seniors on the court. Sophomores Ana Gibbs and Riley Mann organized gift baskets for all six senior players. The ceremony was emotional and reminiscent as the seniors reflected on how far they have come.
Despite the setback, the team plans to regroup and return to the court next Tuesday, the 27th, against Boys Town at 6 p.m. for their first game in the conference tournament.

Great story, Riley! I can’t believe we’re seniors, and I’m going to miss playing with you so much. I’ve really enjoyed reading your post-game write-ups and how thoughtfully you speak of everyone on the team.
