For this month’s episode of Career Corner, we interviewed Dr. Taylor J. Acosta. Dr. Acosta is the Chief Curator of the Joslyn Art Museum in downtown Omaha, where she works to acquire unique art pieces and showcase underrepresented artists, while prioritizing the care and conservation of various artworks. Dr. Acosta is also a BT parent, with a daughter currently enrolled in Early Years, and she has generously given her time to take BT students around the Joslyn and offer her distinctive insights on everything from Japanese printmaking to French Impressionism. In this podcast, we delve into Dr. Taylor J. Acosta’s professional experiences, her college journey abroad, and the artists and mentors who have inspired her to pursue a career in art history.

Violet Vacanti is a senior at Brownell Talbot and has been passionate about journalism since her freshman year. She has written dozens of stories, including op-eds, podcasts, and senior stories, progressing from a staff writer to more advanced roles during her time at Brownell Talbot. In her free time, Violet enjoys spending time with her loved ones, reading, listening to music, or working at her summer job as a florist.
